JEFF BEZOS: INSIDE THE $500 MILLION KORU

One of the largest sailing yachts ever built, Koru is a 127-meter statement of scale, craftsmanship and freedom—an extraordinary vessel widely associated with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

THE SUPERYACHT THAT REDEFINED SCALE

Built by Dutch shipyard Oceanco, Koru stretches approximately 127 meters—about 417 feet—from bow to stern. With three towering masts and the sweeping profile of a classic sailing yacht interpreted on a modern superyacht scale, Koru was designed to command attention without relying on the conventional silhouette of a motor yacht.

Koru’s price has been widely estimated at approximately $500 million, placing her among the most expensive private yachts ever built. But the numbers tell only part of the story. At this level, luxury is measured not simply in size or cost, but in privacy, engineering, craftsmanship and the ability to move through the world on your own terms.

KORU BY THE NUMBERS

THE SUPPORT YACHT: ABEONA

Koru is accompanied by Abeona, a 75-meter support yacht built by Damen Yachting. The vessel expands what is possible beyond Koru herself, providing additional space for equipment, tenders and other support operations. Abeona also features a helipad, allowing the two-vessel setup to function as something closer to a private floating base than a traditional yacht.

LUXURY ON A DIFFERENT SCALE

Koru represents a level of luxury where the ultimate privilege is freedom—the freedom to travel without schedules, to cross oceans in privacy and to bring an extraordinary standard of living almost anywhere in the world. Her scale is remarkable, but the greater statement is what she represents: independence, time and the ability to experience the world entirely on your own terms.

For most, Koru is almost unimaginable. For a select few, she represents what happens when wealth removes the ordinary boundaries of travel. She is more than a yacht—she is a private world under sail.
